In 2019, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake jolted Tulunan, Cotabato in Mindanao. With several damaged houses, the Habitat for Humanity Philippines team conducted a Damage and Needs Assessment for earthquake-affected families to determine disaster response intervention appropriate in the affected regions.

Even with the continuous threats of the COVID-19 pandemic, Habitat Philippines, in full force, started its disaster response implementation in the last quarter of the Fiscal Year 2020.

We have successfully completed its execution by the end of 2020, ensuring that all operations followed the ‘new normal’ guidelines and protocols related to the pandemic.

Through this project, a total of 119 houses were repaired in Marilog, Davao City, and Kidapawan City. By supporting these families, Habitat Philippines contributed to promoting the community’s safety, security, and resiliency.
